If you are not a Brazilian citizen or a citizen of one of the countries in the Mercosul coalition (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay), you’ll need to obtain a tourist visa to travel to Brazil. You may do so by making an appointment at the nearest Brazilian Consulate — in the United States there are consulates in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, New York City, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Hartford CT, Atlanta, Houston, and Norfolk VA. If you live outside of the US, you can find Brazilian consulates in virtually every capital city and most major cities. We recommend making an appointment as soon as possible as it can take weeks and sometimes months for a visa to be issued.
We also recommend you book your flight well ahead of time, as prices can hike up fast. In order to participate in Day 1 of the program on Dec. 9th, your flight must arrive on or before Dec 8th. Your housing will be provided by CTO for the period of Dec 8th-22nd (you will be responsible for housing prior and after this period if you plan on staying in Brazil longer than the duration of the program).
Please do not hesitate to contact CTOenglishtraining@gmail.com with any questions.

Recommended for beginners and anyone seeking an introduction to Theater of the Oppressed.
Date: Aug 21-23 (Tuesday-Thursday)
Total Commitment: 15 hours
Cost: $250 USD*
New Possibilities for Forum Theater (with Julian Boal & Geo Britto)
Description: In this workshop, participants will immerse themselves in a creative process to build an original Forum Theater play that culminates in a public performance. Participants will experience Theater of the Oppressed games and exercises, as well as jokering techniques, that support the development of Forum Theater plays that do not place sole responsibility of an oppression on the oppressed individual, but rather, demand answers about how we can organize to change a society that allows and incentivizes this oppression.
Date: Aug 24-26 (Friday-Sunday)
Times: 6pm-10pm (Friday) | 10am-6pm (Saturday & Sunday)
Total Commitment: 20 hours
*Discount for participants who register for both courses (Intro to T.O. AND New Possibilities for Forum Theater): $500
**Note– cost of workshop(s) only includes program tuition (not travel or housing)
